INTERGLOBAL MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS

BENSON AND RAYMOND ACQUISITIONS

Sacramento, January 7, 2004 — The Department of Corporations today warned consumers to beware of suspicious investment opportunities being offered in phone solicitations by two purported California companies calling themselves InterGlobal Mergers and Acquisitions and/or Benson & Raymond Acquisitions (www.bensonandraymond.com).

Through telephone solicitations, offers are made to purchase securities that individuals already own in companies including, but not limited to, Alliant Diagnostics, SBSS, and First Republic Group of Funds. The targeted individuals are then required to pay money up front, in the form of a fully refundable payment referred to as a "securities verification credit" or a "liquidable asset credit." Individuals are sometimes referred to either the International Exchange Regulatory Commission (www.ierc-int.us) or the International Regulatory Commission (www.irc-gov.us), which claim to be legitimate regulatory bodies but are not associated with the United States or any other government body.

In response to calls by vigilant investors, the Department discovered that there is no valid company by the name of InterGlobal Mergers and Acquisitions or Benson & Raymond Acquisitions registered with the Secretary of State or licensed by the Department to sell securities or act as investment advisors. Investors are urged to use caution.

The Department of Corporations is California's Investment and Financing Authority. The Department is responsible for the regulation, enforcement and licensing of securities, franchises, off-exchange commodities, investment and financial services, independent escrows, consumer and commercial finance lending and residential mortgage lending. For further information or to obtain a complaint form, please visit the Department's web site at www.corp.ca.gov or call 1-866-ASK-CORP (1-866-275-2677).
